Boot Optimization

A long boot time for Windows systems can be a royal pain to deal with, especially if your work depends on using your computer as a tool. However, there are a number of easy and inexpensive methods for boot out there, and many can be carried out in less time than it takes you to watch your favorite TV show. These boot optimization techniques require no special training, no tech support professionals on the phone, and nearly no effort at all to carry out. Perhaps now would be a good time to get started on the specifics.

The first boot optimization technique would be to download and install every single Windows security update that your system does not currently have. These security fixes, or patches, often include codes to optimize your system in general, as well as keeping your system safe, so you can kill two birds with one stone here. The second easy boot technique is to frequently defragment your hard drive. Many programs exist to help you do this automatically, so there is really little or no excuse for putting this off. Always remember to research any program you plan to download thoroughly before doing the deed, and be sure to pay special attention to reliability and compatibility ratings that a given program has been given by third party websites.

The third boot optimization technique that we are going to discuss here is enabling the integrated boot function in most Windows systems. Simply open the registry editor, and then search for the boot optimization function under the folder labeled HKEY LOCAL MACHINE, under the subdirectory labeled software. Click the enable feature on the boot function, and you should be all set! See? This is all very quick, very easy, and you should be done by the first commercial break!
